A Few Simple House Rules

We want your stay at Longhouse Lodge to be as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. To help us care for the lodge and ensure future guests can enjoy it just as much, we’ve put together a few simple house rules.

Check In:
Our check in times are flexible and we are contactable should you need us between 3pm and 11pm. If you choose to enter/arrive at the property after 11pm and have any problems with the lodge or difficulties finding us we are no longer contactable. Please be mindful of this in planning your journey.

Cars:
We accept two vehicles. Should you wish to bring more vehicles, we can accommodate, but need to know prior to your stay and we do reserve the right to charge extra for extra vehicles that we are not told of prior to staying.

Please park on the gold gravel in front of the decked area. We ask you to leave the grey stoned driveway clear at all times, to enable access. The gates to the lane must be closed when not in use, to avoid risk of wandering livestock.  Please also note that the field, outbuildings and surrounding area are privately owned and not for use of guests.

WiFi:
Please note due to rural location and weather conditions we cannot guarantee 100% effective internet connection at all times. We will endeavour to assist and resolve any issues during your stay if made aware however we cannot be held liable for these rare occurrences.

Noise:
We want all our guests to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing stay with us. Please also be mindful of our neighbours too - no loud music, partying, shouting, screaming especially at unsociable hours.

We reserve the right to ask your party to leave if there is repeated noise after having received two warnings. As you will have breached the terms of your contract with us, no refunds will be given.

Candles, Fireworks & Chinese Lanterns:
The use of fireworks, sparklers and Chinese lanterns are not permitted across the entire property, at any time.

Due to insurance requirements, no candles to be lit in the property either.

Damage and breakages:
The simple rule is please tell us. The safety of all our guests comes first, so please do not hide damage to furniture, electrical items or anything which may compromise the safety of future guests.
We know accidents happen and we don’t charge for minor breakages (glasses, crockery etc) or fair wear and tear.
We will discuss any significant damage that is directly attributable to the guest; such as broken furniture, or specialist cleaning and we reserve the right to claim the full costs from you.

Smoking:
Smoking, vaping or e-cigarettes are not permitted in the lodge or on the decking.

Septic Tank:
We do use a septic tank, so as to avoid a hefty bill please keep to the 3Ps (Pee, Poo, Paper) when using the toilet and please use the bin to dispose of anything else. Similarly with the sinks, please do not put anything down the sink like grease, fats, oils, paints and just be mindful of the tank.
We reserve the right to charge for additional costs regarding the emptying and servicing of the septic tank.

Charging Your Vehicle:
Should you choose to charge your electric vehicle via the plug sockets in the lodge we reserve the right to ask you to stop. Should you continue to breach these rules and thus voiding our insurance you will be asked to leave the premises; no refund will be given.

Charging an E-Bike or similar:
Due to our insurance and fire safety regulations the charging of e-bikes or similar is prohibited within the lodge. We reserve the right to ask you to stop should you be caught and should you breach these rules you will be asked to leave the premises; no refund will be given.

Barbecue:

  • A gas BBQ is NOT permitted.
  • Please do not try to move the BBQ, it is placed where it is for safety/insurance purposes. If the BBQ is moved, you will be responsible for any damages caused.
  • A silicone mat has been provided to place over the grill, please use this to cook all food on. The mat can be washed and reused. Should the mat not be used and the grill is left dirty you will incur an extra £20 cleaning charge at the end of your stay.
  • Please only use BBQ utensils. These are stored in the kitchen with the outdoor picnic set.
  • Melamine plates, bowls, cups and a jug can be found in the kitchen cupboards for use outside.
  • Bags of BBQ coals can be provided at an additional cost if required. Please message Molly.
  • Should you not want to buy/use coals; you may place a disposable BBQ on the cold grill. Disposable BBQs are not permitted anywhere else.

Our Dog Policy:

  • Dogs are very much welcomed at Longhouse Lodge. Please let us know at the time of booking should you be bringing your beloved pet.
  • Dogs are currently free of charge.
  • Maximum ONE large dog, or TWO medium/small dogs. We can consider other requests, but please contact us prior to your booking to see if we can meet your needs.
  • Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms, or on any of the furniture.
  • Dogs must not be left in the property at any time, unless in a secure crate. Should you need a crate, one can be provided upon request.
  • Please clean up after your dog. Dog poo bags are provided should you need any. Any dog poo found not picked up, may incur a further cleaning charge.
  • We do not provide blankets or large towels for covering furniture (to avoid accidental jumping up or dribble), please bring your own if needed.
  • We reserve the right to charge for additional cleaning.

Outdoor Cushions & Garden Toys:
If using the outdoor cushions (found in the outdoor storage box, and above the wardrobes in master bedroom) we ask that you please do not leave them out overnight or in bad weather. This just prolongs the longevity of the cushions/furniture. Any garden toys need to be returned to the storage box before leaving.

Events, Commerical Photography and Filming:
We do not accept any of these at the property.

We reserve the right to ask you to vacate the premises with zero refund, and/or charge extra should you not adhere to any of our house rules.
